VIA Integra Velocity Profiles of Tele Atlas in Platform of Analysis
Tele Atlas, main branch of TomTom GPS navigation, supplier of digital maps and dynamic content for navigation and the location based systems (LBS), and VIA, a Dutch agency of consultancy specialized in the advising traffic engineering and applications of software, have signed an agreement by which way will use the Tele-Atlas velocity profiles in their platform of Internet ViaStat for the traffic engineering and traffic management.
The velocity profiles, that include data coming from more than 700 billions of measurements of speed, will give to the ViaStat users the real speed traffic in the highways. The profiles of 5 minutes with their extensive cover of the highway network will allow a better analysis of traffic flow, the time of trip, the average speeds in highway and the scenes of management of the traffic.
The velocity profiles are updated quarterly with the present landlords of conduction to provide the true average speeds in sections of individual highways. In order to guarantee a high level of precision, the ways available are moderate in average more than 2,000 times at different moments and different days of the week. The information already is available for Internet Viastat platform users.
